Market estimates place the starting price at 1.11 euros-1.12 euros per litre, compared with 1.10 euros per litre in October 2024.
The final price will depend on developments in international oil markets and the euro/dollar exchange rate over the next two weeks.
From 1 January 2026, a 30% VAT reduction will extend to an additional 19 outlying Aegean islands, which is expected to lower heating oil prices by about 7 cents per litre in these areas.
The AADE platform for submitting applications for the heating allowance is anticipated to open shortly.
