Heating oil distribution begins tomorrow
The distribution of heating oil (diesel) with a reduced Special Consumption Tax officially begins tomorrow, October 15. In preparation, Greece’s Independent Authority for Public Revenue (AADE) has issued updated guidelines for both consumers and fuel retailers regarding the proper documentation of heating oil purchases.
Starting this year, purchases will no longer be registered through the long-standing “IFISTOS” system. Instead, all transactions will be automatically submitted via the myDATA digital platform. This change is crucial for beneficiaries of the heating allowance, as it ensures that their purchases are properly recorded for eligibility verification.
To facilitate accurate cross-checks and timely allowance payments, sales invoices must now include specific information:
The buyer’s Tax Identification Number (AFM)
The fuel code and quantity (codes "30 - Diesel Heating" and "31 - Diesel Heating Premium")
The buyer’s Electricity Supply Number, which is used to verify the primary residence
Invoices can be submitted to AADE in one of two ways:
Via an Electronic Invoicing Provider through the myDATA platform
Via a Fiscal Electronic Mechanism (FHM) using the e-Send information system
Additionally, when using an invoicing provider, the “Heating Allowance” tag must be selected.
Consumers can also verify their Electricity Supply Number through the myThermansi platform, which, upon successful validation, returns the postal code associated with the residence.
For further assistance, consumers can contact AADE’s my1521 service:
