International Balkan Folk Dance Festival kicks off in İzmir
As part of the festival, teams from various Balkan countries will perform and hold concerts. The opening ceremony took place at Cumhuriyet Square, featuring participating groups from Bulgaria, North Macedonia, Kosovo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Greece, and Montenegro. Following the ceremony, participants marched to Gündoğdu Square.
The festival showcased folk dance performances, and Gamze Matracı gave a concert to entertain attendees.
Tomorrow, at the Buca Hasanağa Garden, there will be additional folk dance performances alongside a concert by Muammer Ketencoğlu and Balkan Journey. At the Karşıyaka Fikri Altay Field, folk dance groups will also perform, culminating in a concert by Rumeli Ekrem.
The festival will conclude on Saturday with performances at the Gaziemir Festival Area and Atatürk Park in Bornova, ensuring a vibrant celebration of Balkan culture and arts.
