DTIK North Macedonia meeting held in Skopje to strengthen regional Turkish business networks
The Foreign Economic Relations Board of Türkiye’s World Turkish Business Council (DTIK) North Macedonia Meeting was held in Skopje on May 6 under the hosting of the DTIK North Macedonia Representatives Committee.
The gathering brought together senior Turkish officials, regional business leaders, and Balkan representatives to discuss economic cooperation, diaspora diplomacy, and cross-border investment opportunities in the Balkans.
Among the participants were Mahmut Gürcan, Fatih Ulusoy, DTIK Balkans Representatives Board President and Greece Representative Levent Sadık Ahmet, and DTIK North Macedonia Representative Fatih Şahbaz, alongside Turkish entrepreneurs and institutional representatives from across the Balkan region.
Discussions focused on expanding trade and economic ties between Türkiye and North Macedonia, increasing coordination among Turkish business communities in the Balkans, and strengthening regional solidarity through economic collaboration.
Speaking after the meeting, Levent Sadık Ahmet emphasized the strategic importance of enhancing cooperation among Turkish entrepreneurs in the region and highlighted the role of diaspora diplomacy in supporting long-term economic integration.
Organizers said the meeting is expected to pave the way for new regional partnerships and contribute to the deepening of commercial relations across the Balkans.
During the DTIK Balkans Board meeting, participants also adopted several initiatives aimed at empowering women and young entrepreneurs in the region. Officials announced plans for a large-scale gathering in September that will bring together female and young entrepreneurs from 11 Balkan countries to benefit more effectively from DTIK’s global business network.
Additional decisions included accelerating efforts to improve financial literacy and developing a digital application within DTIK to facilitate faster networking and business cooperation among entrepreneurs.
