US President Donald Trump extended his greetings to Muslims celebrating Ramadan, describing it as “a reverent season of spiritual renewal, reflective meditation, and appreciation for God's countless blessings.” He noted that the period strengthens community and family ties and reflects shared values of compassion, charity, mercy, and humility. Trump also highlighted the right to freely worship as “a hallmark of our Nation” and extended prayers for global peace and personal fulfillment.

Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney conveyed similar wishes, saying that Muslims in Canada and around the world would begin observing Ramadan at sundown. He called the month “a time of reflection, gratitude, and celebration,” with families gathering for prayer and iftar, the traditional evening meal to break the fast.

Carney also addressed rising Islamophobia, emphasizing that combatting hate remains a government priority. “Islamophobia has no place in our country,” he said, underscoring that all Canadians have the right to freedom, security, and the ability to thrive.

Ramadan, the ninth month of the Islamic lunar calendar, begins at different times depending on moon sightings or astronomical calculations. While several Arab and Muslim-majority countries will start fasting on Wednesday, Muslims in Türkiye, Oman, Singapore, and Australia will begin on Thursday following official confirmations.
