Tensions escalate: Rezaei claims Pakistan would retaliate if Israel nukes Iran

In a dramatic escalation of rhetoric amid growing Middle East tensions, Senior IRGC General Mohsen Rezaei claimed that Pakistan has pledged to use nuclear weapons against Israel if Israel launches a nuclear strike on Iran. Speaking on Iranian state television, Rezaei stated, “Pakistan has told us that if Israel uses nuclear missiles, we will also attack it with nuclear weapons.”

The claim has not been corroborated by any official statements from Pakistani authorities. However, Pakistan has expressed strong diplomatic support for Iran, particularly in light of the recent Israeli airstrikes on Iranian soil.

In a social media statement, Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khwaja Asif warned of Israel’s unregulated nuclear capabilities, calling the country a "rogue state" not bound by international nuclear agreements. He emphasized Pakistan's commitment to nuclear responsibility under international law and criticized Israel for provoking widespread instability.

At the National Assembly, Asif called for Muslim unity, urging nations with diplomatic ties to Israel to cut them immediately, and advocated for a unified strategy through the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).

As tensions between Israel and Iran continue to escalate — with coordinated Israeli strikes and deadly Iranian retaliation — Pakistan's open support for Iran signals rising regional polarization. At least 128 Iranians and 13 Israelis have reportedly died in the ongoing conflict, with hundreds more injured on both sides.
