Banner in the colors of Ukraine hanged at the City Hall of Xanthi

The statement of the Municipality of Xanthi is as follow:

“The Municipality of Xanthi with a banner that was hung outside the City Hall expresses its solidarity to civilian people and our expatriates. To those who are being tested by the attacks in Ukraine, in violation of any notion of International legality and law.

The flag of Ukraine today ‘covers’ every state, every citizen in the world, who has experienced and continues to experience barbarism, because of the aggression and immorality of those who trample on the Rule of Law and advocate the law of the powerful.

The people of Xanthi strongly defend - like all Greeks - the fundamental principles of Life, Peace, Democracy, Freedom, Justice.

The hope and wish of all is for the logic of diplomacy to prevail and for the horror of the war that regress Humanity to end and leading it to darkness.”
