MP Baran: "I did not hide behind immunities and procedures"
Deputy Baran made the following statements in his statement on the subject:
"Today, I have appeared before the Parliamentary Ethics Commission to request the lifting of my immunity in order to clarify the ongoing personal case against me, in which I have unequivocally declared my innocence.
I have not, do not and will never hide behind immunities and procedures. My only aim is to prove my innocence before Justice and to have full confidence in the Judicial Authorities, just like any other Greek citizen.
Those who make political sanctions against me and my party on the occasion of this case, those who want to take advantage of this special event will be seriously denied.
The society and especially the voters of Xanthi who trusted me with their votes
I will continue to fight with the same principles and values."
