Xanthi elects 19 delegates for SYRIZA-PS Congress
The process of electing delegates for the SYRIZA–Progressive Alliance (SYRIZA-PS) congress has concluded successfully in Xanthi, with 19 delegates chosen to represent the local members at the upcoming congress in Athens from November 8 to 10, 2024.
A notable outcome is that 73% of the elected delegates oppose the decision to exclude Stefanos Kasselakis from the party’s Central Committee, which, according to a statement by SYRIZA-PS Xanthi, is deemed unconstitutional.
Final decisions regarding the confirmation of candidacies, including party leadership, will be made during the congress, with SYRIZA's leadership emphasizing that all significant resolutions will be ratified through democratic procedures.
In a press release, SYRIZA’s Communications Office highlighted the importance of accurate information for the public and the media to avoid misunderstandings and inaccuracies concerning the party’s internal developments.
