Hüseyin Zeybek, a Member of Parliament from the New Left Party representing Xanthi, has announced that he will be traveling to Gaza on Tuesday, June 10, to join a protest at the Rafah border crossing. The demonstration aims to demand the passage of humanitarian aid into the besieged Palestinian territory.

In a video message shared on his personal social media account, Zeybek emphasized the global solidarity behind the initiative:

“To end the genocide and to show that humanity is not dead, nearly 3,000 politicians, artists, and activists from 36 countries across five continents will gather at the Rafah crossing. We could not remain absent from this caravan of humanity. That is why I joined the Greek delegation to represent Western Thrace.”

The Greek team consists of 205 members, making it the third-largest national group after delegations from countries such as France, Germany, Turkey, and Spain. Zeybek stressed the urgent need to allow hundreds of aid trucks—loaded with food, medicine, and essential supplies—waiting at the border to enter Gaza and reach civilians suffering from starvation and disease.

“We are setting out to prove that humanity is still alive, and to once again condemn this genocide,” Zeybek stated.

In a separate written post, he reiterated his call to action:

“We are heading to Gaza this evening. We will participate in a protest at the Rafah crossing, demanding the delivery of humanitarian aid. Political leaders, activists, and volunteers from 36 countries will be present. Israel’s ongoing inhumane genocide in Gaza must end. Remaining silent is complicity.”

The event marks one of the largest international protest efforts aimed at breaking the blockade on Gaza and delivering critical supplies to civilians.
