Topsidis new president of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace Region
In the 2nd round of the elections for the state presidency, the current region president and the President of the New Regional Rebirth List, Christos Metios, and the President of the main opposition Regional Synthesis List, Christodoulos Topsidis, competed. Leaving his opponent behind, Hritosdoulos Topsidis became the new president of the State of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace.
In his speech, the new President of the Region of Eastern Macedonia Thrace Topsidis thanked all the citizens of the region, his colleagues and his family.
Stating that he will be the head of state of all citizens from the moment he takes over, Topsidis said, "We will be the administration of citizens independent of parties. My door will be open to everyone. My phone will be open for everyone."
Topsidis, whose speech was broadcasted on state television ERT, stated that they were happy to win despite the games played in recent days.
