SYRIZA denied Skertsos' allegations
It has been reported that the former Government Spokesperson of the SYRIZA Party, Akis Skertsos, denied the allegations that the government was given written or verbal information before the 21 May elections regarding the Thrace issue.
SYRIZA states that there is no written or verbal contact with Yorgos Gerapetritsis or any NDP official.
According to the information in the press, the NDP President sent a document prepared by the National Intelligence Organization (EYP) on minority parliamentary candidates to SYRIZA after the 21 May elections.
“We will never instrumentalize the EYP by leaking information cut and sewn to fit our needs, as New Democracy did for vote-hunting reasons,” SYRIZA leader Tsipras said in a meeting with the election government Prime Minister Yannis Sarmas on Monday, June 12, what he said was recorded.
It was emphasized that between the years of 2015 and 2019, when SYRIZA was in government, NDP officials did not use and will not use the information about the meetings with the Turkish Consulate General and the “fake mufti” before the election.
