A charity bazaar held in Gökçeler (Gökçeler), a village in the İskeçe (Xanthi) region, to support the local mosque drew strong participation from residents and members of the Western Thrace Turkish Minority.

The event, organized by the Gökçeler Mosque Foundation Board on Sunday, September 13, brought together villagers as well as visitors from surrounding villages and İskeçe.

VILLAGERS JOIN FORCES TO ORGANIZE EVENT
The bazaar was held in the square in front of the village mosque and was prepared with significant contributions from local residents, particularly young people.

Preparations began several days before the event, with people from across the village volunteering their time and effort. Young residents took active roles in various stages of the organization.

A range of food and other products were offered for sale during the bazaar. Visitors had the opportunity to shop while also spending time with friends, relatives and fellow villagers.

The event created a lively and welcoming atmosphere throughout the day, as residents and visitors gathered in the village square.

MUFTI MUSTAFA TRAMPA ATTENDS
Mustafa Trampa, President of the Consultative Board of the Turkish Minority of Western Thrace and Mufti of İskeçe, also attended the event with his wife.

Trampa met with residents of Gökçeler and expressed his support for the community gathering organized by the village.

In a social media post, Trampa said he had attended the charity bazaar organized by the Gökçeler Mosque Foundation Board together with local residents for the benefit of the mosque. He congratulated those involved in organizing the event and thanked them for the invitation.

A COMMUNITY GATHERING BEYOND FUNDRAISING
The Gökçeler bazaar served not only as a fundraising event for the mosque but also as an opportunity for residents to strengthen community ties and come together.

The active involvement of young people in the organization was particularly notable, while the collective efforts of villagers highlighted the community's tradition of volunteering and mutual support.

The participation of people from surrounding villages and İskeçe added to the turnout, turning the event into a day of social interaction and community solidarity in Gökçeler.
