Statement from the committee of Xanthi Minority High School
Xanthi Minority Secondary School and High School responded to the "fake" news about the school in the Komotini Press newspaper, with a press release on Thursday, September 28.
"This is our response to the 'news' of the Komotini Press newspaper titled; Hüseyin Baltacı: The ignorant propagandist and provocateur of the Consulate, published on September 28, 2022.”
The press release dated 28 September 2022 is as follows:
"The President of Western Thrace Minority Graduates Association (BTAYTD) and the parent of our school, Mr. Dr. Hüseyin Baltacı made a post about the physical conditions of our school on his social media account.
In order to correct the wrong and misleading data about our school in the news of the Komotini Press internet newspaper after this sharing made it indispensable for us to release this statement.
First of all, we would like to point out that our parent Hüseyin Baltacı has been a reflection of all of our rebellion and has repeated the injustices that the Council committee has repeatedly shouted since the day took office.
As for the news on Komotinipress;
1) Our School Principal or the Board of Directors has never been contacted, so this is a completely false and deliberate statement used to mislead the public.
We would like to remind the author of the article that our school is managed by the Council Committee and the most accurate information on these issues is obtained from the members of the Council Committee.
2) In the article 4, it is mentioned that 99% of the needs of the Greek curriculum are met.
We would like to point out that, considering all classes, 19 lesson hours are empty because Greek teachers have not been appointed yet. Therefore, either the correct information was not received or deliberately fake news was made.
3) Another completely unrealistic data in the article is that all students and teachers of our school are given computers and tablets by the state. We can honestly say that this data is exaggerated. In the past years, only about 10 laptop computers and about 30 tablets have been allocated to our school, which has close to 800 teachers-students.
We would like to underline that, as the Committee of the Council, we will continue to do our best to create better conditions in every sense for the only Secondary and High School of the Western Thrace Muslim Turkish Minority in Xanthi.
Finally, we would like to inform the public that we follow and respond to all the news about our school that are false, false and intended to mislead the public, and that all our legal rights are reserved in this direction.
