“SMARTIES for SMEs” project offers new opportunities for SMEs

The Xanthi Chamber of Commerce hosted an informational event on Wednesday, January 8, as part of the EU-supported “SMARTIES for SMEs” project under the COSME Program. The event introduced sustainable, innovative, and competitive growth opportunities for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the Mediterranean region.
During the event, project coordinator Anthi Panayiotu announced financial support for 15 innovative tourism ventures, focusing on the following key areas:
Green Transition: Adoption of sustainable practices to minimize environmental impacts.
Digital Transformation and Innovation: Integration of advanced technologies into business operations.
Regenerative Tourism: Development of sustainable tourism experiences that revitalize local communities.
Mediterranean Cuisine: Promotion of local gastronomy and agricultural products to celebrate the region’s cultural heritage and encourage healthy lifestyles.
The event was attended by business leaders, SME representatives, and local organizations, who received detailed information about the project's support mechanisms and application procedures.
Speaking at the event, Marianti Malliarudaki, President of the Xanthi Chamber of Commerce, emphasized their commitment to supporting local businesses in enhancing collaboration, expanding outreach, and increasing competitiveness.
The “SMARTIES for SMEs” project aims to foster sustainability, innovation, and economic growth among Mediterranean SMEs while promoting the region’s cultural heritage and cuisine on an international scale.
