Relocation subsidy program offering €10,000 set to open applications

The platform for Greece’s relocation subsidy program, which offers financial support of up to €10,000 for people moving to selected areas, is expected to open soon.
The program aims to encourage population growth in regions facing demographic decline by providing financial incentives to new residents. Initially focused on areas such as Meriç (Evros), the scheme has been expanded to include additional regional units.
Under the initiative, eligible applicants who relocate and meet the program’s requirements can receive financial assistance to support their transition and settlement.
Authorities say the program is part of broader efforts to address depopulation, strengthen local economies, and attract residents to areas experiencing population loss.
