Regional protocol gathered at the first event of the Regional administration
The first event of the new provincial administration, the New Year's donut ceremony was attended by the new President of the province Christodoulos Topsidis, members of the provincial council, MPs, mayors, military officials, Consul General of Türkiye in Komotini Aykut Unal and other officials. The ceremony took place on Monday 1 January at the former prefecture of Rhodope.
In his speech at the ceremony, which took place in the old governor's office building in Rhodope, the President of the Region Topsidis promised to work with all institutions in the region. Topsidis listed his priorities as "work to prevent natural disasters, registration, completion and delivery of ongoing projects in the region, digitalisation of state services, development of the tourism sector for the development of the region".
Topsidis added that they will endeavour to start a new era without denying the services of the previous state administration.
