Regional deputy head Petrovic resigns
Petrovic submitted his letter of resignation personally on Wednesday 25 October during a visit to the President of the Region of Eastern Macedonia Thrace (EMT), Christos Metios, in his office.
In his letter of resignation, Dimitris Petrovic said, "Dear President of the Region. On the occasion of the end of the firefighting period, I submit my resignation from the post of Deputy Governor of Evros Region. As agreed, I was to submit my resignation on 31 August 2023. However, due to the great fire that hit our region, I remained in charge of Civil Protection at your request. Thank you for your cooperation."
The co-operation of Petrovic-Metios, who worked together for many years, came to an end. Metios thanked Petrovic for his services to the region.
