Region of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace plans promotion of agri-food products
A meeting was held in Dedeağaç with key representatives of the business and production sector.
The Region of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace (REMTH) is completing its 2025 initiative to jointly shape policies aimed at boosting extroversion and promoting local agri-food products. This initiative is developed through an open and participatory process of consultation and cooperation with productive and business stakeholders.
Following the meetings held at the Professional and Craft Chamber of Rhodope, the Chamber of İskeçe, and the Chamber of Kavala, the fourth working session with businesses and bodies of the agri-food sector took place on Tuesday, 9 December 2025, in the Regional Unit of Meriç, with the support of the Chamber of Meriç.
The objective of the meeting was the co-creation of extroversion actions, the exchange of views and proposals for more effective promotion of the Region’s agri-food products, and the strengthening of cooperation. Participants had the opportunity to express their views on the agri-food exhibitions held in 2025 as well as previous years. They submitted important improvement proposals for enhancing the visibility of the Region’s products both within and beyond the framework of trade fairs. New target markets and countries of interest for the processing sector of Evros were proposed, while thorough discussions took place on establishing networks for improved communication and collaboration—both between agri-food businesses and markets and among all involved stakeholders.
Region EMT aims, through this process, to create a cooperation mechanism in which every enterprise and organization in the agri-food sector will have an active role and a platform for expressing ideas and proposals.
The presence and active participation of businesses and institutions constitute a valuable contribution to shaping the Region’s new extroversion strategy.
