Quota teachers in minority schools to work after 7 weeks delay

Permission was granted for Turkish quota teachers working in Western Thrace Turkish minority schools to start working.
In accordance with the bilateral agreements between Türkiye and Greece, teachers from Türkiye to work in minority schools in Western Thrace were allowed seven weeks after the start of the school year.
Quota teachers started to work in schools as of Thursday, November 3rd after the approval by the Greek authorities. The news created satisfaction in minority schools and among students' parents.
Meanwhile, a quota teacher was not appointed to Xanthi Minority Secondary School - High School. It has been reported that the quota teacher to be assigned at Xanthi Minority Secondary School - High School has been transferred to Komotini Celal Bayar High School.
As it will be remembered, on November 1, MİLLET newspaper reported on empty courses due to the fact that quota teachers were not allowed to work and brought the issue to the agenda.
In accordance with the agreements between Turkey and Greece, 16 teachers are sent from Türkiye every year to work in Turkish minority schools in Western Thrace.
