Özgür Ferhat requests additional time for land registry and cadastre procedures

New Left Party Rodopi MP Özgür Ferhat has submitted a parliamentary question addressed to the Minister of Digital Management, asking for an additional period of time in order to ensure that the people of the region do not suffer due to the closure of the platform for land registry and cadastre transactions in the province of Rodopi on 29 February.

In his parliamentary question addressed to the Minister of Digital Management in order to keep the platform open for a while longer, MP Farhad included the following information;

"Due to the closure on 29 February of the platform for Land Registry and Cadastre transactions in our region of Rhodope, MP Özgür Ferhat intervened in the Ministry of Digital Management and requested an extension of the processing period.

Ferhat stated that especially most of the lands and small settlements are still not registered in the system, for this reason, hundreds of people may lose their property and rights with the closure of the platform, and that the long and difficult legal and court process will be a great burden on our people economically.

The MP stated that especially our Minority people have rights and title deed problems dating back to the past and therefore the situation arising from the state but the people are victims, and as additional reasons that deepen the problems, he listed the fires in August 2023 as the main reasons, the year 2023 being an election year and the administrative procedures were disrupted for this reason, the local lawyers' bar association was on strike for a long time and did not carry out transactions, the lack of personnel of the Land Registry-Cadastre office, and urgently asked for an extension of the deadline with a ministerial decision so that the people of Rodopi would not be victims."
