MP Özgür Ferhat requests lifting of immunity

Rodopi MP from the New Left Party, Özgür Ferhat, has requested the relevant parliamentary committee to lift his immunity in order to stand trial in a lawsuit filed against him and 16 other Turkish minority leaders.
Rodopi MP from the New Left Party, Özgür Ferhat, has requested the relevant parliamentary committee to lift his immunity in order to stand trial in a lawsuit filed against him and 16 other Turkish minority leaders.
Ferhat announced his request in a video recorded in Athens and shared on his social media account. He stated that an individual, who had engaged in smear campaigns and targeted members of the Turkish minority, had filed a lawsuit against him and other elected minority representatives. In response, he has formally requested to have his immunity lifted so he can face trial.
