MP Ferhat raises power outage issue with Ministry

Rodopi MP Özgür Ferhat, representing the New Left Party, has brought the issue of frequent power outages in villages, exacerbated by adverse weather conditions, to the attention of the Ministry of Environment and Energy.

In response to numerous complaints from residents, Ferhat highlighted the recurring electricity disruptions in villages under the jurisdiction of the Yassiköy Municipality. He emphasized that even mild weather conditions have led to outages, severely impacting daily life and economic activities in the region.

A recent example cited was the power outage on December 25, which lasted over an hour and a half, underscoring the gravity of the situation. Despite persistent complaints from residents and local authorities to the responsible entities, the issue remains unresolved, further degrading living and working conditions.

Ferhat has formally submitted the following inquiries to the Ministry:

What are the causes of frequent power outages in Yassiköy Municipality within Rodopi Prefecture?
What measures does the Ministry plan to implement to resolve these outages?
Is there a strategic plan to improve the electrical grid and prevent similar issues in the future?
Will funding be allocated for repairing the main units and transmission lines prone to frequent failures?
Ferhat urged immediate action to address the region’s power infrastructure challenges, stressing the need for sustainable solutions to enhance the quality of life and economic stability in the affected communities.
