Mitsotakis could not digest SYRIZA's success in Rhodope

In an interview published in the “Proto Thema” newspaper, NDP leader Mitsotakis accused the Turkish Consulate General of interfering in the elections.
Former Prime Minister and New Democracy Party leader Kyriakos Mitsotakis, in an interview published in the "Proto Thema" newspaper on Saturday 3rd June, claimed that the Turkish Consulate General in Komotini intervened in favor of SYRIZA deputy candidate Ferhat Özgür in Rhodope province.
“There was indeed a clear intervention by the Turkish Consulate in Rhodope in favor of a particular candidate. And that's a problem.” Mitsotakis said, "Because it is a partner in the interference of another state in the internal affairs of Greece, it is an issue that should primarily concern the party that elected it." He accused SYRIZA with his words.
“And notice: I am not talking about all minority MPs or the entire Muslim minority,” Mitsotakis said. After all, I supported the religious minority, following in the footsteps of Konstantinos Mitsotakis, who promoted equality before the law.” used the phrases.
In a statement published in Proto Thema, the NDP leader said, “Greek Muslims should feel that they have equal opportunities with their Christian compatriots and we are doing everything necessary for this. But some want to see them as leverage to create trouble in Greece. For this reason, some parties should have been much more careful in their choices.” said.
Kyriakos Mitsotakis is expected to visit Komotini on Tuesday, June 20, as part of the election work. Rhodope province attracted attention as the only province in Greece where SYRIZA was the first party.
