Missing 79-year-old man found dead in rural İskeçe area
A 79-year-old man who had been reported missing in the İskeçe region was found dead in an agricultural area near Lefkopetra, local authorities confirmed.
The man, identified as Giorgos Tsitiridis, had been missing since the afternoon of Sunday, June 7, prompting a search operation after he failed to return home.
According to initial information, Tsitiridis had been traveling by motorcycle in the Lefkopetra–Grigoro–Selerou area when he disappeared. His family alerted authorities, leading to a coordinated search effort across the region.
Despite initial unsuccessful search attempts, he was later located in a rural field without signs of life. The circumstances and cause of death remain unclear at this stage, and investigations are ongoing.
