Military personnel detained for drug possession

A personnel of the Land Forces was detained in Karpatos on charges of drug possession. According to Kranosgr.com, the EPOP Senior Sergeant was arrested for possession of a small quantity of narcotics.

The detained sergeant was released on the instructions of the prosecutor after giving a statement to the police authorities on the island. The legal process is expected to be finalised.

It should be recalled that yesterday, an Air Force personnel was also detained in Mykonos after being caught with two others in possession of drugs. According to the police statement, a large quantity of drugs was found on the arrested master sergeant. Among the items seized:

• 8.15 grams of crystal methamphetamine in 7 plastic bags,
• 3.24 grams of cocaine in 4 plastic bags (one bag pink in colour),
• 0.97 grams of cocaine in 3 metal key rings,
• A total of 1.2 grams of MDMA powder in 2 nylon sachets,
• 11 XTC pills,
• 50 ml glass bottle containing hydroxybutyric acid in a volume of 20 ml,
• Plastic container containing 2 ml of hydroxybutyric acid,
• 4 mobile phones and 60 euros thought to be obtained from drug trafficking were seized.
