Metios favours Xanthi, Galanopoulos out
Christos Metios preferred Xanthi and excluded Dimitris Galanopoulos, who was elected as a member of the provincial assembly from his list.
The President of the Region of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace, Christos Metios, who lost the elections against the Regional Synthesis List headed by Christodoulos Topsidis, will continue to serve as the main opposition president and member of the state assembly from 1 January 2024.
According to the law, the heads of the lists have the right to choose from which province they will be a councillor. Accordingly, Metios preferred to be a councillor from Xanthi instead of Rodopi.
With Metios' preference to be a councillor from Xanthi, he excluded Dimitris Galanopoulos, who was elected from Xanthi from his list.
