Meetings with the board of trustees continue...
Consultation meetings of the boards of trustees continue with the initiative of MPs Burhan Baran and Hüseyin Zeybek in Xanthi.
The meetings, in which the status of foundation lands and cemeteries, which came to the agenda after the destruction of the historical Horozlu Turkish cemetery in Xanthi by the municipality, and the problems experienced regarding their notification to the land registry cadastre, continue.
In this context, the first meeting was held with the board of trustees of the villages located within the borders of the Hemetli Township (Middle Branch) of the Avdira Bulustra Municipality.
The situation of the foundation lands and cemeteries that came to the agenda after the plunder in the Turkish Horozlu cemetery and the problems experienced in the land registry cadastre notifications are the main topics of the meetings.
In the researches, it was revealed that some of the waqf lands, especially in the abandoned villages where very few Muslim-Turkish populations live, were declared to the title deed by the municipality.
Following the developments, boards of trustees were invited with the initiative of our deputies Burhan Baran and Hüseyin Zeybek, and the issues that could be done to prevent further plundering of foundation lands began to be discussed.
Regarding the meeting in Xanthi Ova region (South Xanhti), Deputy Burhan Baran shared the following information on his social media account:
“Tonight we are holding the second meeting at the initiative of me and Xanthi Siriza Deputy Hüseyin Zeybek. Representatives of the Mosque Trustees of the villages in the Inhanlı (Topiros) municipality in our Xanthi Plain Region attended. We will continue to hold these meetings in our two remaining regions in the future.
We held the second of our meetings in Kirnos (Kırköy) Education and Culture Association's club.
Xanthi Elected Mufti Deputy Mufti Ahmet Hraloğlu, Eastern Macedonia - Thrace State Assembly Member İrfan Hacıgene, Lawyer Ahmet Kara, Özer Telatoğlu, Deputy Mayor of Topiros (İnhanlı) Municipality Mümin Halitoğlu, and Raif Raifoğlu elected member in the Municipality Council attended the meeting.
We decided to listen to the problems in their region from the officials of the foundation delegation and act together.
Our next meeting will be with the Foundation Committee officials of our Avdira Municipality ‘Yaka’ Branch villages and the elected members of the Municipality.”
