Infrastructure contract signed for New Komotini Hospital

A contract was signed for the infrastructure works in the region for the new hospital to be built in Komotini.
Signatures for the infrastructure of the new hospital to be built in the Kavaklı region of Komotini were signed on Tuesday, 7 March at the East Macedonia and Thrace State Presidency building.
The project, which is reported to be worth 4 million euros, includes a series of interventions to the road network and electricity grid of the region where the hospital will be built.
The signing ceremony was attended by East Macedonia and Thrace State President Christos Metios, Rhodope Provincial Vice President Nikos Çalikidis, Vice President for Management, Economy and Sports Ahmet İbram, Vice President for Health Vasilis Lurbas, State Assembly Member Tarkan Multaza and European Programs and Mountainous Areas Advisor to the President Cihan İmamoğlu.
The works to be carried out with the signed infrastructure project are as follows:
- 2.7 kilometers long road connection to and from the new hospital.
- Construction of a three-level junction that will provide direct access to the hospital, the first from the Komotini-Yassıköy road, the second from the Komotini-Xanthi road, and the third from the Melikli village (Meleti).
- Implementation of 400-meter-long improvement works on the Komotini –Yassıköy road.
- Construction of a one kilometer long road for the direct connection of Melikli village with the hospital.
- Improvement of the local road network with a total length of 2.42 kilometers in the area around the hospital.
- Vertical and horizontal marking of roads and taking security measures.
- Installation of road lighting.
