Iftar celebration in Demircik village brings community together

A spirit of unity and celebration filled Demircik village in Mustafçova Municipality, Xanthi, as the local community gathered for a grand iftar dinner on Saturday, March 22, 2025.
A Community Gathering with Distinguished Guests
The Demircik Youth, Education, Culture, and Sports Association organized the event, attracting a large turnout from the local Turkish minority community and welcoming guests from Turkey.

Spiritual Reflections and Iftar Dinner
Before the iftar, Qur’an recitations by scholars from Türkiye's Presidency of Religious Affairs deeply moved the attendees. Following this, Mustafa Trampa and Muhammed Masum Vanlıoğlu addressed the congregation, expressing gratitude to the organizers for hosting the event.
As the call to prayer signaled the end of fasting, the community performed the Maghrib prayer before sharing a meal at the iftar table, strengthening bonds of friendship and faith.
Fellowship and Traditional Prayers
After the meal, guests visited the Demircik Youth Association’s center, where they enjoyed Turkish coffee and engaged in warm conversations. The night concluded with a group photo taken in front of the association’s premises.
To end the blessed evening, visiting scholars from Turkey led an Enderun-style Tarawih prayer, marking a spiritually uplifting conclusion to the event.
The Demircik village iftar once again highlighted the strong cultural and religious ties of Western Thrace’s Turkish minority and served as a testament to the power of faith, unity, and tradition.
