Three arrested in human trafficking and prostitution case in İskeçe
According to a statement from the İskeçe Police Department, two foreign nationals and one Greek citizen were arrested on July 30 following an investigation into a complaint filed by a woman regarding sexual offenses allegedly committed against her.
Police said their investigation initially identified the involvement of one foreign national, who was later located and arrested. Authorities alleged that the suspect had illegally brought the woman into Greece the previous week and recruited her for the purpose of sexual exploitation, arranging for her to work at a venue in İskeçe to gain unlawful financial benefit.
Police also arrested the owner and cashier of the establishment. Authorities alleged that the owner provided a specially arranged area for sexual acts with customers between July 24 and 29, while the cashier collected payments for those acts.
The suspects were taken before the İskeçe Prosecutor’s Office. The preliminary investigation is being conducted by the İskeçe Department for the Prosecution and Investigation of Crimes.
