Hüseyin Zeybek: “Our goal is to stop the genocide in Gaza”

Hüseyin Zeybek, Member of Parliament for Xanthi representing the New Left Party, participated in the international movement “March to Gaza,” aimed at delivering humanitarian aid to Gaza and raising global awareness about Israel’s attacks. The five-day action in Egypt brought together approximately 3,500 participants from 52 countries.
The march began in Cairo with the aim of reaching the Rafah Border Crossing on June 11, allowing aid trucks carrying food and medicine to enter Gaza. However, Egyptian security forces halted the participants near Ismailia. Zeybek reported that some demonstrators were injured, beaten, and deported as a result of harsh interventions.
“This was not a romantic march, but a strategically planned action with international coordination,” said Zeybek. “Our goal is to stop the genocide in Gaza, deliver aid to the oppressed people, and ensure the implementation of the United Nations’ 1948 resolutions. An independent Palestinian state is now inevitable.”
Zeybek emphasized that the action evolved into a global movement of conscience, bringing together people from different countries, faiths, and political views under a common purpose. “This was a caravan of humanity, and we proved that humanity still exists,” he concluded.
