“Gulyabani” captivates audience as Miracle Theatre performs in Edirne
A celebrated stage adaptation of a Yeşilçam classic drew strong acclaim in Edirne as a youth theatre group from Western Thrace brought its production to a Turkish audience for the first time.
The play “Gulyabani,” performed by the Mucize Theatre, was staged at Trakya University, where it received enthusiastic applause from attendees.
A Classic Reimagined on Stage
Directed by Senemahu Topuz, the production is an adaptation of the iconic Yeşilçam-era story Gulyabani, blending elements of folklore and comedy. The performance stood out for its dynamic staging and strong ensemble cast, composed of young performers from Western Thrace.
The show was held at the Türkan Sabancı Culture Center, marking the troupe’s first international performance of the play.
Strong Institutional Participation and Support
The event was attended by prominent academic and administrative figures, including Vice Rector Eylem Bayır and Rector’s Advisor and Deputy Secretary General Ali İhsan Meşe, alongside deans, faculty members, students, and local residents.
The program was organized with the support of the university’s Foreign Relations Application and Research Center and the Health Culture and Sports Department.

By staging the play in Edirne, the Mucize Theatre contributed to the preservation and cross-border sharing of cultural heritage rooted in both Turkish cinema and regional storytelling traditions.
The evening concluded with a presentation of commemorative gifts and a group photo session, marking a successful cultural exchange event.
