Greek Cypriot students held a protest demonstration in Komotini on the evening of Tuesday, November 15, due to the anniversary of the establishment of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC).

About 30 Greek Cypriot students marched to the Consulate General of Türkiye in Komotini.

The Turkish Cypriot Federated State Assembly, with a unanimous decision on November 15, 1983, declared the establishment of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, and Greek Cypriot students studying in Komotini and having associations protested.

Greek students came to the street where the Consulate General of Türkiye in Komotini is located. Here, two representatives of the group, who chanted the slogan "Turks out of Cyprus" for a while in front of the police barricade, hung a written notice on the board next to the Consulate General, as they do every year.

Greek students dispersed without incident after singing the Greek national anthem.
