Yassıköy (Iasmos) in Rhodope hosted its second Gastronomy Festival and second Traditional Desserts Competition on Sunday, October 4, bringing together local associations, businesses and producers to showcase the region’s culinary heritage.
The event attracted more organisations and businesses than last year, with traditional desserts and local products taking centre stage. Chefs and culinary students also prepared dishes using products supplied by producers from the region.
25 ORGANISATIONS PRESENT LOCAL PRODUCTS
A total of 25 cultural associations, unions, businesses and local organisations opened stands at the festival, presenting their activities and a range of regional products.
Visitors were offered traditional desserts, coffee and other local products, while the festival provided an opportunity for local producers and organisations to promote their work.
The main event was the Traditional Desserts Competition, in which participants presented desserts associated with their local communities or places of origin to a jury of experienced chefs.
