Farmer from Kalfa (Kalhas) village of Komotini Municipality fell into the trouble of saving the crops they planted in their fields from stinky insects.

Inhabitants of Kalfa, one of the biggest villages of Komotini Municipality making their living from farming, are faced with a serious problem.

Citizens fell into trouble to save the wheat crop they planted in their fields from stinky insects.

The rains contributed to the good production and growth of the crops in the fields.

However, it is estimated that the recent heavy rains not only contribute to the growth of crops, but also to the emergence of stink bugs.

While the farmers in the Kalfa region are happy with the beautiful ears of wheat they plant, they are saddened by the fact that the aforementioned insects multiply and eat the ripening ears.

Headman Mehmet Osman sent the photographs taken from the fields in the region to Milletnews, and conveyed the farmer's distress.

Mehmet Osman stated that after the recent rains, there has been an increase of stink-smelling insects in the wheat cultivated in the fields in the Kalfa region.

The headman stated that the insects eat the ears from the top to the bottom and cause great damage.

He stated that the farmers are thinking about how to solve this problem, that ELGA and other authorities should come and examine this problem on the spot and they expect them to find a solution for the farmers who are in a difficult situation.
