Exhibition about Palestine by students from Western Thrace in Edirne
The painting exhibition titled "Your pain is our pain, you are our life, Palestine" consisting of the charcoal paintings of Hafsanur Derviş and Serra Kasap from Western Thrace studying at Edirne Akmercan Anatolian Imam Hatip High School was opened.
The exhibition consisting of 16 drawings in charcoal technique started to be exhibited on Friday 31 May in the courtyard of Edirne Old Mosque.
Hafsanur Derviş, a student from Western Thrace, said in a statement to journalists that they poured the sadness in Palestine into their paintings.
Serra Kasap also stated that they made charcoal works in response to the ongoing genocide in Palestine.
Their teacher Sevim Öztürk thanked her students for their sensitivity.
Edirne Governor Yunus Sezer, Trakya University Rector Prof. Dr. Erhan Tabakoğlu, Provincial Director of National Education Önder Arpacı and Edirne Chamber of Commerce and Industry Chairman Sezai Irmak also visited the exhibition where Hafsanur and Serra, who came to Edirne from Western Thrace to receive education, put the pain and sadness experienced in Palestine on paper.
