EMT Region allocates €20 Million to upgrade hospitals and health centers

A funding package of €20 million will be directed toward the modernization and enhancement of hospital and health center infrastructure across Eastern Macedonia and Thrace, as part of a coordinated initiative between Regional Governor Christodoulos Topsidis and the Director of the 4th Regional Health Authority of Macedonia–Thrace, Panagiotis Bogiatzi.
According to ERT building on discussions held last month, a follow-up working meeting took place today in Komotini, with the participation of senior officials from the 4th Regional Health Authority and the Special Management Service of the Operational Program “Eastern Macedonia & Thrace.”
Governor Topsidis reiterated his firm commitment to fully utilizing available EU structural funds, particularly within the framework of the 2021–2027 programming period.
The upcoming call for proposals, with a total budget of €20 million, will focus on strengthening the region’s public healthcare system through targeted investments.
Planned funding will support proposals aimed at:
Upgrading, expanding, and modernizing healthcare infrastructure.
Acquiring cutting-edge biomedical equipment, general medical devices, and mobile health units.
This initiative is expected to significantly improve the quality and accessibility of healthcare services throughout the region.
