Eastern Macedonia and Thrace Region targets Finnish Tourism Market
The delegation of the Region of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace, led by Deputy Regional Governor for Tourism Panagiotis Archontis, successfully participated in the Matka Workshop Day 2025, held in Helsinki, Finland, on January 15. This event, part of the largest travel exhibition in Scandinavia, brought together tourism professionals from across Northern Europe.
During the workshop, the delegation engaged in significant B2B meetings with travel agents and organizations from Finland and other Scandinavian countries. The aim was to strengthen tourism collaborations and promote the region as a destination in Scandinavian travel programs.
According to official data, the Finnish market has shown growing interest in Greece, with Finnish tourists spending more and staying longer. The participation in Matka Workshop Day is part of the region's strategic promotion plan, aiming to enhance its visibility and presence in the Scandinavian market.
