Eastern Macedonia and Thrace Region & POESY: Pre-conference for the 19th Semadirek (Samothraki) Journalism Congress to be held in Kumçiftliği (Orestiada), October 10–11, 2025
The Region of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace (AMTH) and the Panhellenic Federation of Journalists’ Unions (POESY) will co-organize a pre-conference for the 19th Semadirek Journalism Congress 2026 on Friday and Saturday, October 10–11, 2025, in Kumçiftliği, Meriç Regional Unit.
According to Regional Governor Christodoulos Topsidis, “This pre-conference fulfills my commitment, made during the 18th Journalism Congress in 2024, that before each main Congress, a preparatory pre-conference will be held in a different city within our Region to ensure thorough and effective planning of the proceedings.”
The discussions in Orestiada will focus on submitting proposals for shaping the main themes of the 2026 Congress, selecting speakers, and setting the final dates for the upcoming event.
Governor Topsidis emphasized that “this collaboration will play a decisive role in the success of the 19th Journalism Congress, further highlighting Eastern Macedonia and Thrace as an important hub for journalistic thought and dialogue.”
In addition to the co-organizers, representatives from the journalists’ unions—members of POESY, including ESIEA, ESIEMTH, ESIEPIN, ESIESTEE, and ESPIT—will also participate in the pre-conference.
