The long-awaited MaronyaTaşlık coastal development project is facing further delays, with reports indicating that completion could be pushed back to 2027.

The project, designed to improve coastal accessibility, tourism infrastructure and transportation links along one of the most scenic stretches of the Rhodope coastline, has encountered administrative and technical obstacles that have slowed implementation.

Local authorities and residents have expressed concern over the prolonged timetable, arguing that the project is important for regional tourism, economic development and connectivity between coastal communities.

Officials have acknowledged delays but maintain that work is continuing and that efforts are being made to secure the necessary procedures and approvals required for completion.

If finalized, the project is expected to enhance visitor access to the coastal zone, support local businesses and contribute to broader development initiatives across the Rhodope region.
