National Defence Minister Nikos Dendias visited the Hellenic Navy's Naval Station in Samothrace on Tuesday, highlighting the island's immense importance for Greece's national interests. In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Dendias emphasized the strategic significance of Samothrace, underlining its critical role in safeguarding the nation's security.

Earlier, Defence Minister also toured the Armored Vehicles Simulation Center in Alexandroupolis.

During his visit, Dendias stressed that the "defensive fortification of Evros and Thrace is not only a constitutional duty but also a top political priority for the government." At the simulation center, Dendias remarked that it offers a glimpse into the 21st century capabilities of Greece's Armed Forces. He added that much of the current efforts are part of the "Agenda 2030," which aims to develop modern, powerful armed forces for the country.
