Cooperative announces tobacco prices

According to the cooperative, an important meeting was held on Friday, April 25, with the cooperative's board of directors and representatives of tobacco purchasing companies. The meeting focused on how to increase prices and improve producers' incomes in 2025.
The statement included the following:
“On April 25, 2025 (Friday), a meeting was held with the full participation of the Cooperative Board of Directors and representatives of tobacco purchasing companies to discuss what steps we can take in 2025 to further increase prices.
Dear tobacco producers, for the first time in the history of our cooperative, tobacco has been sold at such high prices. As of today, the average price is €6.40 (this may vary slightly depending on additional support provided by traders and may continue to fluctuate in the coming days).
For 2025, the projected tobacco prices are expected to be significantly higher.
Since the first day we took office as the cooperative management, we have consistently stated that prices must rise each year. Today, we see that our determined efforts, though small, are beginning to bear fruit. But this is not enough for us. We will continue working with the same determination to ensure you earn even more.
Dear members, we have successfully established a minimum price for this year — a goal we have been pursuing since day one (assuming favorable weather and no natural disasters).
This year, tobacco prices will not fall below the current average. We are committed to always working tirelessly to deliver the best for you.”
