City of İskeçe invites residents’ input on central square redevelopment
The Municipality of İskeçe has launched a participatory design process for the redevelopment of the section of the central square located beneath the historic plane tree, where the fountain currently stands.
Citizen Participation
Residents are invited to submit their ideas for the project until October 2, 2025, via the city’s official website: www.cityofxanthi.gr/i-poli-mas.
Process
Proposals deemed technically feasible will be grouped and presented in a public vote.
The final design choice will emerge directly from citizens’ participation.
Goal
The aim is to create a public space that better meets the needs of daily life in the city, while enhancing one of the square’s most beloved spots. Through this initiative, the Municipality of İskeçe seeks to empower residents to play an active role in shaping a more welcoming and vibrant community space.
