Charity fair in Demircik brings people together
The Demircik Youth, Education, Culture and Sports Association is organizing a meaningful event aimed at strengthening unity, solidarity, and cultural ties within the Turkish Minority of Western Thrace.
On Sunday, August 3, the village of Demircik in İskeçe will host a vibrant Charity Fair (Hayır Kermesi) welcoming visitors from across the region.
Free Transport from İskeçe
To encourage participation, free shuttle buses will depart from İskeçe’s main square at 15:00, organized in cooperation with Chamats Travel. A 12-Hour Cultural Celebration: Food, Conversation & Community
Running from 12:00 noon until midnight, the fair promises a rich and colorful program designed for all age groups.
Highlights include:
Traditional Cuisine: Homemade dishes prepared using local produce.
Charity Bazaar: Handmade crafts, clothing, natural products, and preserves will be on sale.
Guest Speaker – Saliha Erdim: The well-known Turkish author and family counselor will hold a book signing at 16:00, followed by a talk at 18:00, offering insight and inspiration to attendees.
