Çalikidis conveyed the problems of the region to the ministry officials
Rhodope State Vice President Çalikidis conveyed the problems of farmers and fishermen to the officials of the Ministry of Agriculture, Development and Food.
Eastern Macedonia and Thrace Province (DMTE) Rhodope Unit Responsible State Vice President Nikos Çalikidis conveyed the problems experienced in corn aid, the new Common Agricultural Policy and fisheries to the officials of the Ministry of Agriculture, Development and Food.
Vice President Çalikidis met with the Secretary General of the Ministry of Agriculture, Development and Food, Hristiana Kalogiru, and the Secretary General of Agricultural Policy and International Relations, Konstantinos Bagineta, on the new Common Agricultural Policy for 2023-2027 and the national strategic plan for the development of the fishing sector in the Rhodope region.
Andreas Karagiorgis, DMTE President's Advisor responsible for the fishing industry, also attended the meetings.
Çalikidis conveyed the problems raised by the Rhodope farmers at the meeting held in Komotini on December 2, to the secretaries general appointed by the Minister of Agriculture, Development and Food on the Planning and Implementation of the new Rural Development Program.
The parties also discussed the restrictions on support for maize, the development of the strategic plan for rural development and production priorities, as well as the situation in the Rhodope region. At the meeting, the steps to be taken for the development of the barrier lakes in the Rhodope region were another topic discussed.
Making a statement about the meetings, Nikos Çalikidis said, “Considering the local economic situation, the cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture, Development and Food to promote primary sector issues is important and permanent.
I demanded that the problems that will negatively affect agricultural income be found by the ministry as soon as possible.”
In the meeting, Çalikidis also requested the officials from the Ministry of Agriculture, Development and Food to visit the Rhodope province and make a presentation on the new Common Agricultural Policy in order to inform the farmers of the region.
