Blue flag to be planted on 9 beaches of Western Thrace

The Greek Association for the Protection of Nature announced the blue flag awarded beaches in Western Thrace. According to the announcement, 4 beaches in Rhodope, 1 beach in Evros and 4 beaches in Xanthi will be awarded blue flags.
In the province of Rhodope, blue flags will be hoisted at Sarıyer (Arogi), Meşe, Fener/Camping and Fener beaches of Komotini Municipality.
In Evros province, only the municipal beach of Alexandroupolis was awarded with the blue flag, while Bulustra/Porto Molo, Mandra, Mirodato and Lefkippos beaches of Bulustra Municipality of Xanthi won the blue flag award.
The Hellenic Society for the Protection of Nature, the National Operator of the International "Blue Flag" Programme in Greece, has announced the awards given to beaches, marinas and tourist boats.
Accordingly, with 625 award-winning beaches, Greece ranked second in the world again among 52 countries.
