Advisory Board condemns the death threat of Deputy Hüseyin Zeybek
BTTADK said, "The Turkish Minority of Western Thrace has been exposed to a multi-faceted policy of oppression for a long time," and underlined in the statement, "As the Board, we strongly condemn this attack on all minority individuals in the person of Hüseyin Zeybek, and invite the prosecutors to duty."
On September 12, 2022, a citizen who was connected to the "Anihti Grami" (Open line) program broadcast on Next TV with the presentation of Panos Papadopoulos, threatened Xanthi SYRIZA Minority Deputy Hüseyin Zeybek with death on the live broadcast.
The Turkish minority, whose fundamental rights and freedoms are guaranteed by laws and international agreements, has begun to feel this understanding, which is incompatible with minority and human rights, in their daily life. The main reason for this situation is the discriminatory and marginalizing policies that our state has adopted against our minority and has become more prominent recently.
As a matter of fact, the statements at the level of paranoia, in which it is normal for minority politicians to be heard for national security reasons, and that minority people who participate in the election of Mufti are collectively described as "agents of the third country" are the latest grave examples of this intense oppression atmosphere.
As a continuation of these developments, Xanthi Turkish Minority Deputy Hüseyin Zeybek was threatened with death on live broadcast by a citizen who connected to Panos Papadopoulos's Next TV program "Anihti Grami" (Open line) on 12-09-2022 at 13.00.
This is a call to turn the marginalizing and targeting discourse that has been going on for many years into action.
