A cognate died in the fire in Komotini
A fire broke out in a detached house in Kırmahalle, Komotini. An elderly female cognate who was inside the house died in the fire.
A fire broke out today in a detached house on Filipopoleos E5 street in Kırmahalle, Komotini. Unfortunately, a 92-year-old female cognate who lived alone in the house died in the fire.
The fire broke out in the detached house yesterday noon. Noticing the fire, which is believed to have originated from the stove, the neighbors reported the situation to the Komotini Fire Brigade.
Upon receiving the news, 3 vehicles and 6 firefighters were sent to Kırmahalle to the fire place in a short time.
The fire brigade immediately responded to the fire that broke out in the house on the narrow and dead-end Filipopoleos E(5) street. As a result of the studies, the fire was extinguished, but unfortunately the old woman living alone in the house could not be saved.
After the fire was brought under control, the medical team came to the scene by ambulance and took the woman's body to Komotini Sismanoğlu State Hospital for autopsy.
A large number of police also came to the scene. The police conducted investigations in the burning house, and received information from neighbors and family members about the fire and the deceased kinsman.
Firefighters and police officials did not provide information on whether the elderly cognate woman was poisoned by smoke or burned to death. The autopsy report will reveal exactly why the old woman died.
