7 axes of work for education, culture and sport introduced by KOMOTINI DINATA

The main opposition of the Municipality of Komotini, Antonis Gravanis and the KOMOTINI DINATA team headed by him, have identified 7 axes of policies to be developed and implemented in the fields of education, culture and sports with the cooperation and participation of all citizens.

KOMOTINI DINATA shared the 7-axis study it prepared in the fields of education, culture and sports with the public by sending it to the press. In the statement made on the subject, the following were stated.

"We want to make the Municipality of Komotini the place where we and our children want to live, with the 7-axis policies that we will develop and implement in the fields of education, culture and sports with the cooperation and participation of all citizens.

Education, culture and sport are areas that concern our daily life, our children's schools, sports fields, entertainment and creativity.

With the vision of making Komotini an accessible city for children and families, ideal for young people and open to culture, we have identified 6+1 priority axes for each of the above-mentioned areas.

They are proposals to make our schools friendlier, to ensure that all sports grounds are safe and secure and that we have new, modern stadiums. To give space and freedom to all carriers of culture and to support our heritage, our cultural richness and local art."

EDUCATION

1. Creation of new school units.
   (1 new primary school + 1 new high school)
2. Modernisation of existing school units.
   (Energy upgrade and building interventions)
   (Supply of new technology systems)
3. Reorganisation and restoration of school gardens and modernisation of sports facilities.
4. Creation of multi-purpose rooms.
5. Operation of additional full-time childcare centres.
6. Establishment of Mobile Units for Creative Employment of Children in settlements under the municipality.
7. Establishment of a mobile children's library.

CULTURE

1. Establish a network of cultural monuments and museums to emphasise and preserve the multicultural character of the municipality.
2. Recording and digitising the cultural inventory of the municipality in cooperation with institutions and cultural associations.
3. Establishment of a registry of local artists and sportsmen in order to support human resources.
4. To be ambitious to become the European Capital of Culture.
5. Creation of actions and initiatives with Trans-Balkan character (Youth Festival, Trans-Balkan Sports Games, etc.).
6. Operation of educational workshops-art workshops in the cultural spaces of the Municipality of Komotini (e.g. museums).
7. The redesign of the traditional events organised for the freedom of the city and the Lantern Festival.

SPORTS

1. Creation of new mass sports facilities.
